Ok I know you’ve all been wanting to see how I went with shooting a teenage boy. How would it go? Sullen stares? Grunts? Oh ye of little faith! Au contraire!
Lisa and Sam are a deliciously close, beautiful mother and son pair. Lisa has been raising Sam as a sole parent for about 12yrs now I think and he is such a gentle soul. Welll…there was that incident where he was pretending to bash a rock on Lisa’s head but besides that, all went well. A photographer recently posted a photo and mentioned that a guaranteed way to make a teenager smile is to get them to jump. So I managed to find a big cliff, capable of sending hearts into mouths of mothers the world over. And Sam was in heaven! He did huge dives off this place and grinned wildly as he did it too. Phew!
Living by the ocean it was obviously always going to be a beachside shoot for this pair. Apparently their home is filled with the detritus that a curious boy will pick up and treasure. And by the end of our little walk around the beach we’d found some amazing shells, rocks and animals ourselves. But I also found something pretty gorgeous – this mother and son. Lisa and Sam you rock. Big time.
